How could you not stop and see Albert the Bull? After driving for hours it was a nice place to pull over and have a picnic lunch and let the kids stretch their legs on the playground.

Beloved world famous rest stop, an icon of Idaho’s economic history, and a work of artistic 60s style mastery can be found in our, now dearest friend, Albert the Bull. Larger than one thinks, this bull looks over waves of crop and the town of Audubon with a such sweet demeanor. The information kiosks are surprisingly thorough and give important restaurant and boutique information on the local flair. To note, Albert has quite the anatomical correctness, and we are sadly remissed to have failed to obtain “the” photo. 😜 Hehe. If someone finds themselves in need of Albert merchandise, look no further than that of the Bakery, which has cups, mugs, magnets, and stickers with iconography of this gentle giant.

If in Iowa your road trip isn’t complete without stopping to see Albert, the World's Largest Bull, He’s in a small town called Audubon. He was built in the summer of 1964. He is 28 feet tall and has a 15-foot span between horns. He weighs 45 tons, and most of it is solid concrete. The steelwork that forms his mighty frame was salvaged from abandoned Iowa windmills. You can push a button in the information kiosk next to Albert's parking lot he tells you that he was built as a replica of the perfect Hereford bull, nine times larger than life-size and "authentic right down to my toenails." According to the voice of Albert, 20,000 people visit him every Year 🐮 🐃 🐮 🐃 🐮 🐃🐮 🐃 🐮 🐃 🐮 🐃

Great park with a playground and a shelter where one can learn about Albert the Bull. There is also a campground right next to it where one can park their RVs.

It has playground for kids and a tiny info center about Albert the Bull and Audubon County and it's history and historic places in the county you can go visit. There's also a sort of swimming area where there's a water slide but have not tried it yet so not sure if it's free or even works. One thing you have to watch out for esp with little ones, some parts in the playground gets muddy during spring or sunny day in winter I had to throw away my kids' shoes after they played with muddy puddles. You can let them wear rain boots though so it's easy to clean.

Albert keeps a watchful eye on the highway running through Audubon IA. A playground is adjacent for kiddos to get their ya-yas out, and a proper campground is right next door. Nothing more joyful on the open road then spotting fantastical roadside attractions - and that ain’t a load of, well, you know....
